Motorcycle Detailing

When it comes to motorcycle detailing, the customers can be more than a little fussy. After all, bikes don't come cheap! Some bikes cost more than a family car, reaching six figure numbers for some of the top models.

Motorcycles can mean a lot to there owners, and not just because of the price! Customisation is popular, and it is a very serious business indeed. Everyone knows, regardless of brand or cost, quality will be expected, nay, demanded! Detailing is relative to just about every surface a motorcycle has, and most of them need regular care to keep them in top condition. Choosing the right products, for each surface, is more important than many might think. Everyday products are great for everyday. When it comes to paintwork, many cleaners may be just as effective as another. No matter whether your bike has a custom paint job or is factory finished.

Auto car detailing is not approached in the same way, as a motorcycle. A detailing product may be great for the car, but it may fail miserably when it comes to a motorcycle. Much more surfaces will need specialist care. Trying to keep the chrome shining has been known to cause mental breakdowns! A truly traumatic detailing experience, without the right product! Detailing for highly polished aluminium is, usually, an absolute necessity. Machined aluminium usually benefits from using a more specialized method. The finish of stainless steel can be destroyed with over abrasive products. Plastic can be really tricky, and can cause particular problems for dirt bike owners. Which product you use here can, literally, make or break it! All of these surfaces, in particular, need to be treated to the best product you can afford to buy. Or it might cost you dearly in the long run.

Like the title suggests, attention to detail is what motorcycle detailing is all about. Plus keeping your bike looking brilliant, and, well, shiny!!! There are specialist detailing technicians out there. People can pay more for a high end import bike than another will for their house in the suburbs. Custom built motorcycles can cost as much as quarter of a million dollars. Only seems natural some bikes owners would rather leave it to the professionals! Detailing can take hours. Washing, cleaning & polishing metal, dressing the plastic and rubber. Then there's polishing the paint, protecting it, plus cleaning and conditioning the leather and vinyl. Not forgetting degreasing wheels! For many, detailing is one of the little pleasures gained when you own a motorcycle. For another, it can seem like the most boring job in the world! Even if it is an essential one. Professional detailers don't come cheap, so buying good, effective, products can cut the pain of doing it yourself.
